Does anyone understand Cameras?
Because mine has been talking to me in this strange language, I think it's saying offence things...
Weird...
Anywho, I'm planning on buying a camera between now and... before I go on Holiday (some time in august). I'm hoping for it to be a half decent one, and searching on eBay just be comparing things I've found two that seem to be okay...
Camera 1
Camera 2
I was wondering which one is a better buy? Obviously I may not even buy either of them.... just knowing which one is better... in terms of value and actual stuff... cause I don't think Camera 2 comes with stuff like a case... meaning I'd need one... or somethang...

Re: Does anyone understand Cameras?
Well, are you using it for professional purposes or just for fun? The second one has way more megapixels and supports HD video, which are very important. Seeing that the first is nearly $100 cheaper, though, might make it better to buy if money is an issue. Is Sony known to make better products than Canon? The brand name could make a difference in quality also.
I think that if you're just taking pics of friends and making memories, take the first for its cheaper price and still decent features. If you're going to publish videos or whatever, take the second for all the nice bells and whistles. You could buy a case separately.
Although, I don't really know that much about cameras... I was just reading their descriptions.

Re: Does anyone understand Cameras?
For me due to postage and packaging, the first has like... £20 and the second has £10.
Meaning the second is cheaper, but yeah... cause I don't understand cameras I am not sure which is better...
It is for taking pretty pictures, not professional, just some nice looking pictures, so the better the camera for the cheapest is good.
If all else fails I'll see if my brother has any clues, he's normally good with this sort of thing... somehow.... I guess I'll have to see how much a Camera Case is as well...
And it seems that a Camera case for the second Camera is just about £13
Gah, the first one has all sorts of goodies and lenses... It's so hard to chose! The thing is, the first one has 4 days left and the second one has 2 days.

Okay, FUUUUUCK! I just saw that the second Camera had gotten a few more bids.... boosting it to LOADS! more, like FREAKING LOADS MORE! I think Camera 2 is now out of the question... it's broken my budget....

But watch out! The first one still has 4 days and it's usually in the last day or 2 that the price will jump with all the bidders coming in.
Re: Does anyone understand Cameras?
Yeah, I got a different Camera from Play.com
£54, and it's fairly decent... I just hope I can take some fairly decent snaps now xD

You should show us some pics of your adventures!
Re: Does anyone understand Cameras?
Cameras may work with the light of the visible spectrum or with other portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. A camera generally consists of an enclosed hollow with an opening (aperture) at one end for light to enter, and a recording or viewing surface for capturing the light at the other end. A majority of cameras have a lens positioned in front of the camera's opening to gather the incoming light and focus all or part of the image on the recording surface. Most 20th century cameras used photographic film as a recording surface, while modern ones use an electronic camera sensor. The diameter of the aperture is often controlled by a diaphragm mechanism, but some cameras have a fixed-size aperture.
A typical still camera takes one photo each time the user presses the shutter button. A typical movie camera continuously takes 24 film frames per second as long as the user holds down the shutter button, or until the shutter button is pressed a second time.
The lens of a camera captures the light from the subject and brings it to a focus on the film or detector. The design and manufacture of the lens is critical to the quality of the photograph being taken.
The size of the aperture and the brightness of the scene controls the amount of light that enters the camera during a period of time, and the shutter controls the length of time that the light hits the recording surface. Equivalent exposures can be made with a larger aperture and a faster shutter speed or a corresponding smaller aperture and with the shutter speed slowed down.
That is how a camera works.
Possibly.

Did you get that off an encyclopedia? >.>
Just kidding... interesting though that you've studied cameras so well.

You don't have to be kidding, I really did steal that right from wikipedia.

I actually almost pulled a rofl when I saw that post. I don't remember anyone asking for the science of cameras in depth, so it really caught me off guard.
You did it for the lulz?
Re: Does anyone understand Cameras?
I did it completely for the lulz!
And well he did ask if anyone understood cameras, so I was showing I did
