Yea, plus the PvP might be pretty worse what with teleporting and flash jump and ranged attacks.
Especially the full screen ones.

Well yeah, the classes aren't balanced enough for it to work... there are not enough weaknesses in the classes for anything to work.... Ranged people would always beat warriors just because one hit and they are dead (unless they bring in a different damage meter). Then they can just stand at the back and laugh....
Sins would beat most bowman due to their quicker attacks. Mages... could just destroy people depending on the level.... if it is 4th job... then they are gonna kill people... anything lower... their range is too limited... they could beat the warriors but struggle against bowman and sins... but then, if they were to teleport... they could easily just have the attack pass through them... Not to mention Clerics can heal....

But I actually think warriors would win, cause they have that big lion full screen attack?
So from the very start they wouldn't even have to find their enemy to kill them!

Chris a warrior would probably win, High Defence, Huge HP and shout: Stun skill which has massive range. Bowman Vs Sin, 4th job bowmaster wins, hurricane. Mages, get one on them, poof so yeah, its not entirely balanced but they should make a PvP field and negate some skills to balance it out.

yes, but even if the warriors do have high Hp and stuff... most people will still be able to hit 4k in one hit... Cause if they have like 2xx Def (probably quite suckish (but those who are low dex would have)) would die in either one strafe, or one Shadow partnered Double shot... or even more damage... I mean, Frankenroid has 700 Def, and most people can hit like 4k damage on him... The other problem would be status effects. Stun, poison and freeze would all ruin it... not so much poison cause you can still move... but freeze and stun just means instant death

Well, if it's just used repeatedly then it could be used to hit them while they're stunned and restun them when they become unstunned so they'd be killed after a while anyway and wouldn't be able to do anything.

All in all, it seems like a fairly bad idea.
There was a game called Ghost online or something like that and it had PvP......

Lol, I think PvP can really only work in 3D, because the main problem (not a bad thing) that most people (i'm sure of) face is that their opponent runs about a lot.... so you constantly get the "Target must be in front of you to attack" thing...

That's why lag would screw it a load!
Because you'd attack what you thought was in front of you, but would actually be walking behind you!
I mean even between me and my brothers with our best connection there was a 2 second lag.

Well, the main problem is that with me it is jerky so people seem to move really quickly... very quickly behind me... Also, to begin with Priests actually kick some bottom. They get a skill (like from the beginning or something) where it is a shield that absorbs a certain amount of damage... currently I think it is like level 8 or something and it absorbs like 220 damage... and when people are only doing 54 at best... you wont die... EVER! The main problem is that no matter how much you run... you can't avoid being hit by the mage/priest's main attacking move... it just comes about and hits you in the arse...

I think we've established that PvP would not work in Maple!
I don't really like PvP in any MMORPG because you never know how much of a cheat or how funded your opponent is!

that is the main problem... and the second your kick arse move wears off... you always have cool down times....Then there is the whole slight lag = mega Death... currently I'm enjoying fighting level 1-5s or slightly stronger and beating them in one hit....
