Dragonica
Heey,
For anyone thats tired of playing maple and needs a brake you should try this game out.
Its really really similar to maple actually, as it is a sidescroller MMORPG and you can become either warrior archer mage or thief.
its 3D tho (yes, 3D sidescroller) and the fighting is really awesome, and combo-based.
You should definably check some youtube movies.
This is a link to the version tarik and me are playing. (no we didnt quit wow, we just play this when were bored)

Re: Dragonica
Do we have to pay to play? If not, I may check it out... Next week is Spring Break for me, even though I have a LOT of schoolwork and studying to do, I can aside some time to play it.
Have you played Mabinogi? I bet not since Chris couldn't play it, but are the gameplay and graphics like Mabinogi?

Re: Dragonica
Bethany, this may be taking the Micky, BUT an idea would've been to click ONTO the website where it has OH SO MUCH information on it, surprisingly.
Re: Dragonica
uh, I did click the link... SO GO SUCK A BIG ONE... Maybe I'm crazy, but I didn't see anything that said anything about it being free.
What better way to show interest AND save time than to ask a question pertaining to the subject? 2 birds with one stone.
It looks like a good game, and I'd rather take the advice of a trusted friend than a possibly biased website. Of course they are going to try to make themselves look good, so I want to get info from a person who actually has a trustworthy opinion.

Re: Dragonica
When I went on the website it was pretty obvious it was free.... But that's just me....
I've made my account and currently slowly downloading it. My 3rd attempt, the download helper didn't work, then when I downloaded teh set-up client my internet browser broke half way through, and wouldn't resume.... Then I'm hoping this current download goes well.

Re: Dragonica
If it's anything like that "Ghost Online" that was "very like MapleStory" also, it's gonna suck
Re: Dragonica
As much as I'd love to give it a go.... I've spent ALL FUCKING DAY, trying to download it.... watching as the time to download SWINGS between 1 and 4 hours.... One of the downloads got to 70% then guess what happened... my internet browser decided to "not respond" which is Opera's way of saying "LOL! I somehow lost internet connection!" Firefox does it as well, meaning I have to restart my computer and start again, I've tried to download it about 10 times now.... I'll try again on the weekend....
The sad thing is, I'll probably play it for a week, then never again... Chances are my computer wont be able to run it....

Re: Dragonica
That's what I was saying to beth, I've put so much effort into maple that I won't be able to switch to this and play properly....
Actually I said that on your facebook page. :p

Re: Dragonica
Hey Chris, perhaps you can stay up late over the weekend or on Friday night and go downstairs and use your mothers internet access when no one is there.

Re: Dragonica
Yeah... because it'd be a smart idea to download it onto the downstairs computer.... when my computer is not? I really cba in staying up till 3am so I can take my laptop downstairs.... to download something that will STILL take about 2 hours.... and then get played about 4 times.... and left.....
As of now, I've given up on the idea, I am sorry.

Re: Dragonica
What if I download it, run over to England with my laptop, create a wireless link from my laptop to yours, and then transfer it through that?
Would that work?
Would that work?
Re: Dragonica

Re: Dragonica
It would be difficult, have you ever tried running on water?
It ain't easy, and ain't isn't even a word!!
Most games suck......
That is the be all and end all of this!
In fact, maple isn't all that good, I reckon most of us wouldn't have lasted nearly as long had we not met eachother!!

Re: Dragonica
I was about to say that Maplestory isn't even that good, but you beat me there....
It's addictive, like all MMORPGS, you don't play them for the story or reason you play games on Consoles, like... fun... no, it may start off like that, and occasionally come back every know and then, but by then your concept of "Fun" has been destroyed and you are no more than a quivering mess who's addicted to the over the top level up. Mmmm, Endorphins... But really MMORPGS probably cause more stress than happiness.
I'm sure Dragonica is quite good, but I find that most of the MMORPGs try and rip off Maplestory, and don't do it well. Maplestory just seems to work, like the skills and ability points are friendly and simple, it's just a generally simple User Friendly game on the front, and slightly more complex when you get further in, whilst most other games see the slightly complex bit and go STRAIGHT for that, destroying the user friendly side of it until you've played it for a bit.....

Re: Dragonica
I´ve played Dragonica for a few days. And if I´m honest, I find Dragonica.... sucky. I don´t know why, but I just don´t like it. The community isn´t really "active", in all the time I've been playing, not alot of people were talking (Or it's just because I was still newb). And some other stuff I didn't like, but I'm too lazy to sum them all up. But one huge turn off: Since I've played Dragonica, My Virus Protection has been running wild. It shuts automatically off every few hours... Or it's one huge coincidence.

Re: Dragonica
yeah, its advised to play it with friends, since the community is .. well... absent.
No its virus-free. Ofcourse. MMORPGs hardly ever have virusses.

Yeah, I just thought it was my protection itself. Cause when I scanned my laptop, it didn't show any signs of virusses. I've also asked my friend (who gave me the Virus Protection) and he said I had to renew the license.
