I was planning to watch it cause it was on a huge telly in the middle of a big field.

I was busy though

I hear it was played dirtily though, like one guy got Jackie Chan kicked in the chest.... I saw a replay of what looked like a guy being sandwiched then elbowed.... in the face.... I can't say it's been the best world cup.... But that bloody Octopus, I imagine it's now going to be considered the bloody messiah!

Don't get me wrong but I think we deserve a rematch because YOUR stupid referee didn't see that WE deserved a corner right before the goal.
I agree that it was no offside game (don't know how its called in English, but its what happens when a player of the opposing team stands closer to the goal then a player of the team the goal belongs too when he gets the ball played to him).

But yeah, this was not a fair way to win imo.. would have thought the same thing if this had happened to the neths, winning like that.

Wait... didn't a NL player totally Jackie Chan kick a spanish player in the chest or something? From what I heard, the game itself entirely was pretty dirty. It sounds like both teams should really be ashamed with themselves for this poor sportsman behaviour.
This is the biggest match in the entirety of Football, the world cup final. Where the best of the best play, where the greatest footballers get to. People come from all around the Earth to see this momentous occasion, they did not go to see a dirty game full of foul play.

I can't really understand where this Dutch anger at the ref stems from! If it weren't for his leniency, it wouldn't have been a surprise to see the Dutch down to nine men after just half an hour! If there's anyone to blame it'd have to be Robben, he had two golden opportunities to put them in front

Still, both teams are a thousand times better than England, yet we still went up in the FIFA rankings

Perhaps England did better than everyone thought, they actually made it out of the group stages, now there's an achievement these days...

I am not talking about the foul play, both teams did that a lot and that was very bad and unprofessional, the problem we Dutch have with the ref is that if he would have given us the corner shot we would have easily made it to the penaltys, but because he didn't our team got caught off guard and spain had the chance to score, that is the problem, maybe the outcome would have been the same but I think this is not a fair way to win, especially if both the final teams are basically the same in skill.
