Mosh Pits!?!?!?!?!

So?

Who here likes to be in mosh pits, either receiving or dishing out injuries!

This is brought on cause I went to a "Rise Against" gig yesterday and I don't think I've ever injured, punched, elbowed, headbutted, sat on, kicked, kneed, shouldered or jumped on people so much in my life

I've never had to "injure, punch, elbow, headbutt, sit on, kick, knee, shoulder, or jump on people", and I hope to keep it that way.

Well I not only injured, punched, elbowed, headbutted, sat on, kicked, kneed, shouldered or jumped on people but I also got injured, punched, elbowed, headbutted, sat on, kicked, kneed, shouldered and jumped on aswell!

But I dealt more damage than I received!

Causing and receiving injuries mightn't sound fun but at a concert in a big pile of people doing the same thing, it is!

Cause there's no grudges, so you could punch someone in the face and they'll pass it on instead of returning it

My brother and some friends went to see Dragon Force live... his friend broke his nose cartilage... he had tubes going down his neck and stuff...
I've never been to a live gig yet (stupid parents) but I REALLY want to crowd surf...

My friend was talking about (if he and this other person didn't talk about mosh pits, I'd have no clue as to what they are) how hot it gets in one.

yeah, it gets even hotter in the front of the standing area... like against the stage... (I don't know, I've just heard about it)

I wouldn't go into a mosh pit or that kind of concert...

Anything can be moshed to.. apart from Cold Play...

I'm not really a concert person, so... I'd rather listen to my music over the internet, which means I have a big mix of songs I like.

I would like to see some live music... like some bands that I like a fair bit, e.g. Foo Fighters, Muse, Bloc Party...

I'd rather save the money for a ticket and use it for other things.

But you have to go to at least ONE concert before you die... like how you need to have at least ONE boyfriend/Girlfriend before you die otherwise your life sucked.....
But, I don't know what I would spend my money on... my main problem is that the only person I can really go with is my brother... then I need my parents to let me due to my brother being hopeless.... cause my friends aren't into music/the same sort of music as me...

Well, he went to a concert, and forgot to take the ticket AND his phone..... so my dad had to go and track him down.... He also tells my parents about concerts pretty much the day or so before....

My friends friend was talking about this special pair of underwear she wears when she goes moshing. It's like a pocket on the inside of her underwear so no one can steal it or so it doesn't fall out of her pants pocket.

That's... odd... what if you put your money in there.... Then you wanted to buy something from there.... I watched a youtube video called, "The guide to moshing" and it said that with your key (only have one key (Car key?)) you tie it into your shoelace, then you leave everything like phones, wallets and stuff in the car... if you didn't come by car and came by bus.... just have one person with a mobile phone... that isn't a big mosh fan.... "What about money?" I hear you ask? Well, you don't take wallets cause they iz well easy to lose, instead, it is best to just take loose money (notes) and maybe even (what i would do) put it in your sock... where people wont find it...

What if someone cuts off your foot? With all the pushing, shoving, etc, it could happen.

I don't think so.... I doubt someone would have a knife... and I doubt someone would be willing to cut off someone's foot just for a few Pounds or dollars.... and with a knife... it would have to be a lot of slices.... Unless it was like diamond tipped.... and they were strong enough to cut through bone in one foul swoop.... without having to saw... which I think you would notice....

Heh, at Rockwerchter 2007 which is a festival, there was a band called Enter Shikari. The second they started playing a pit started in front of me, behind me, and on both sides, so basically around me. so what I did was put all the stuff in my bag in my pockets, threw the bag away, and started hitting people. Which was fun and the first fight I had in ages.. only not so fun thing was the guy who got rlly mad and looked like he was 2m height by 2m wide...

I thought in mosh pits you weren't meant to throw punches or kicks... just ramming into each other... I mean, otherwise... you just go back to the days of bear bare knuckle fighting... whilst not as bad as normal boxing.... is still quite the bad sauce...

No, punching and kicking is allowed.

It's not nice to start fights though

lol, I imagine that it would probably be more kicking... cause punching is normally going to be face height... so.... that could get ugleh quickly...
