I have recently got into a series called Soul Eater.

It's Shounen and is absolutely awesome.

I think if you like FMA you'd probably like this.

What a coincidence! I started watching it just yesterday!

I saw some artwork done on YouTube of Maka and Soul, so I looked it up because I was curious. Surprised me though, Maka looked like a boy in the picture. I don't normally like girl protagonists, but I'm about 10 episodes in and enjoying it.

I'm 40 episodes in and I only started watching it there last week.

That means I've spent a total of 16 hours watching it so far.

Yeah, Soul Eater is actually really good! !!!............! I really need to catch up with the anime series I actually watch...
I found myself recently just re-watching most of the Rom-com anime I used to watch (Girls Bravo, Ai Yori Aoshi, Please Teacher) for a little cry here and there, plus they're really good stories, obviously the latter two are less.... nudity based... but it's pretty funny at times.....
So yeah, I need to catch up on FMA:BH, One Piece (cause they just released a load more) and maybe even Soul Eater... but first... watching Chobits... cause my friend is somewhat obsessed with it, and apparently it's pretty good...
so far, I like it due to the way it pretty much perfectly portrays a teenage boy (horny as hell... but awkward) which is really what the before mentioned ones did... although not as horny... more as just awkward (maybe I like them because I can relate to the characters xP)
So yeah.... Those are my two cents (or pennies....)

Okay, so i've FINALLY seen the ending of Soul Eater... man was that TIGHT!
So many ANNOYING people are complaining about it for having a corny ending... but then it's like they didn't even pay any attention through anything at all.... It makes me SO annoyed that so many people just wanted the Keshin beaten to a bloody pulp and are complaining there was no big action packed finish (it took like 3 episodes or more and ended on an explosion!) GRRRRRRRRR... people's ignorance annoys me.

I finished Soul Eater a while ago, but I do think the ending was a bit too sudden. I mean, the behaviour of the Kishin was all the time composed, calm. But when he fought Maka, His attitude changed suddenly, into panicky, impatient. That was practically the only thing that bothered me, besides that the manga has a total diffrent storyline than the anime.

Ahh now I watch Re-born on crunchyroll ;D

The reason the Keshin changed his composure was because he just didn't understand how this small girl could be standing up to, what he believed, the most powerful being there is. He just didn't understand how a small girl with no weapon or anything is remaining so calm around something that could easily kill her...
It messed with his already unstable mind... at least, that is how I see it.

I think one of the few subs I'm watching is Highschool of the Dead... and that's only because my friend told me to watch it. like, Knife point...
Pretty snazy, got some music from 28 Days Later as well (cause it's like the same thing 'n' all that)

Oh yeah, I finished Soul Eater a while ago too. That was a good series. I just recently forced myself to finish D.Gray-man too. Anyone ever seen that one? Then I watched Pandora Hearts, World Destruction, and the Tales of Vesperia movie. And I finally saw those Miyosato (or something like that) films like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, etc. Currently watching Tales of the Abyss.

I've been going on a lot of trips lately and like watching this stuff on the way. Anyone have any suggestions for a really good shounen that I can watch from start to finish? Something short, cool, dark, full of bloody action, and not so much on the perverted side (there may be kids in the car with me). Kind of like Soul Eater, FMA:B, or Pandora Hearts.

What about the popular Naruto and Bleach? They're popular and they have action. Further I have no idea. My animes are pretty much comedy, romance, school and slice of life.

GOD DAMMIT Draco! Stop watching the ends or the anime I wish to watch! I've only seen HALF of d.Gray-Man it was sexy... English dubs Then Tales of Vesperia film I want to see, but I don't want to have to watch it in subs as I'm use to Yuri's and Flynn's English voices. Tales of the Abyss I want to watch primarily cause I like the Tales of Series...
The problem with trying to watch something like bleach is 200 odd episodes later, it hasn't ended yet (as well as 414 manga chapters later....) Naruto I think may have finished (but they started a new series of that stuff) but it's a long series again.
OH OH OH! OH OH OHOHOHOHOH! Watch Elemental Gelade. It's fucking AWESOME!!!!!! Okay.... I just remembered it isn't bloody violence all the way... or REALLY dark and gritty...
If you want Dark... and bloody... I suggest Hellsing... or Highschool of the Dead... but seeing as you said non-perverse I don't recommend HOTD as it's very VERY Ecchi...
